Who we are

yourvoice.to lets people leave a short voice message and listen to voices other people have left. This page describes the information the site stores and the services that process it.

Information we collect

When you sign in with Google through Auth.js, we store the name, email address, and avatar URL Google sends, plus the Google account id. Those details are saved in our database and in your session.

When you leave a voice, we store the recording itself, how long it is, and the optional name, title, age, intro, and country you choose to add. If you leave the name blank, a guest recording is stored under an anonymous label.

When transcription is available, we send the recording to Groq and store the transcript and the language Groq detects. If transcription does not run, those fields stay empty.

For a guest, we set a signed cookie named yourvoice_guest and store only an HMAC of that cookie, plus an HMAC of the IP address on the request, so we can count voices per day and tell guest reports apart. The database does not store the raw cookie id or the raw IP address. The host that receives the request can still see the IP address in transit.

A signed-in like stores your account id with the voice. A report stores the reason you pick and an optional note of up to 500 characters, tied to your account, or, for a guest, to the cookie hash and IP hash.

Cookies

We do not run ads, and we do not set an advertising or cross-site tracking cookie.

Signing in sets an Auth.js session cookie (authjs.session-token, or __Secure-authjs.session-token on HTTPS). During Google sign-in, Auth.js also sets short-lived cookies, including a CSRF token and a callback URL, to finish the sign-in. Those cookies keep you signed in. They are not used to advertise.

yourvoice_guest is an httpOnly cookie, lasting about 400 days, used only to apply the guest daily limit and to recognize a repeat guest report. When Google sign-in is not configured, a local preview can set yourvoice_demo so that preview account can see its own voices. That preview cookie is not used once Google sign-in is configured.

The site loads Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. This application does not set a cookie for that script.

How we use it

We never use recordings to train AI models or for voice cloning, and we never sell or license them to third parties for such purposes. The site does not offer downloads of recordings.

Who processes it

Vercel hosts the site and provides the page-view analytics. Neon Postgres stores accounts, voices, likes, and reports. Cloudflare R2 stores the recording files when object storage is configured. Groq transcribes recordings with Whisper when a transcription key is set. Google handles sign-in and provides the name, email, and avatar we store.

We do not sell personal information.

When a recording is public

A recording, and the name, title, age, intro, country, and transcript attached to it, is public only after it is approved and has not been deleted. Pending voices, including ones held for review, and rejected voices are not on the public pages. The owner can still open them. A deleted voice is removed from public view.

How long we keep it

Account details stay until you ask us to delete them. Voice records stay until you delete them or ask us to. Deleting a voice in My voices removes it from public view. That step does not erase the recording file from storage. Email us and we will delete the stored recording, and the remaining record, on request.

Likes and reports stay with the voice. There is no separate expiry in the product.

Your access and deletion

If you are signed in, My voices lists the voices on your account, including ones that are not public, and you can delete them there. A guest does not have an account page. To ask for a copy of other information we hold, or to ask us to delete your account, a stored recording, or a report, email hello@yourvoice.to.

Children

yourvoice.to is not for children under 13. Do not sign in or leave a voice if you are under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the site, email us and we will delete the account and recordings we can identify.

International transfers

Our processors may store and process information in the United States and in other countries where they operate, which may not be the country where you live.

Changes

We may update this page. The date at the top will change when we do.
